Somewhere on the way to Norton VA on the old L&N, a coal train derailed in the summer of 1994.

Debris

Coal and metal covered the ground and spilled into the creek below.

Torches

Tanks and torches were brought in to cut up the cars and haul them away.

The creek made things difficult to access.
